Aeolian Islands

All the islands are of volcanic origin. Each one is a gem in its own right: each has its own individual character and charm. Spectacular natural phenomena await you: boiling sea, warm sulphur fango baths, black obsidian and white pumice, tuff in all pastel shades, yellow-orange sulphur crystals, acrid sulphur gases and vapors, a fire-breathing mountain that is unique in the world, crystal-clear, inky blue water and pitch-black sand.

We are staying on four different islands and, with a bit of luck, we will set foot on each of the seven islands. The accommodation is all by the sea. You can go swimming directly from each hotel. In addition to the hikes, we will go on island tours. All transfers from island to island are carried out by private boat where possible. This allows us to see fumaroles in the sea, for example, in which we can even swim. There are many snorkeling opportunities from the boats.
Another highlight is a guided tour of the famous Lipari Archaeological Museum: more than 6000 years of “populated” history: every era documented and comprehensible – something only Jericho can offer!

The Aeolian Islands owe their name to Aeolus, the god of the winds. And it may indeed be the case that the travel program has to be changed due to windy weather conditions.

This trip can be combined very well with a stay on Mount Etna, which I would love to explore with you on foot: Hornitos snow caves, lava tubes, craters, lava fields … But people who don’t want to hike much can also take part in the trip. Vespa tours are also possible.

This trip is a delicacy for all the senses, especially for the palate! The cuisine is refined and varied: a wide variety of fish dishes and lots of fresh vegetables, delicately prepared. Not forgetting the tempting sweet desserts, good island wines and the famous Malvasia. We offer a wine tasting and cooking courses are available on request. Of course, you will be introduced to the secrets of caper plants.

The tour guide has been to the islands more than 100 times in 25 years. There is no route that she does not know. She is on friendly terms with many people. Spontaneous excursions on fishing boats, harvesting olives, live concerts – there are plenty of surprises. Due to the small group size, the program can be tailored to individual wishes.
