Western Sicily

Culture and nature

Lots of new things in the west – the unknown Sicily.

In Palermo, we experience the lively metropolis with a Palermitan (art history tour – but not only!) and also visit Monreale.
We travel on to Segesta. Here we have a guided tour of the temple and the excavation sites. We bathe in hot springs and then travel on to the salt pans. From here we visit Mozia (Phoenician excavations – guided tour). We then travel to Trapani. From here we will make an excursion to San Vito Lo Capo, hike on Monte Cofano and also travel to Favignana, where we will take a short bicycle tour. We will also visit the largest landscape art in the world: the Cretto by Alberto Burri. In this context, we will also deal with the consequences of the 1969 earthquake.
Wine tastings and visits to oil mills and culinary delights round off the program.

This journey takes Ruth Janssen, who has lived in Sicily for ten years.

We will be happy to organize your extended stay.
